Which Comics Pro Ripped Up A Frank Cho Drawing Of The Scarlet Witch? The Answer May Shock You
We're only one day into a three day weekend and the comic book news has already dried up. Buckle in for a long weekend, folks!
We hate to pull out this trick so early into the weekend, but we're left with little choice. It's time to fall back on Bleeding Cool's patented news generation technology, the one that gives us an edge on all our competition. That's right! It's time to spin the WHEEL OF STORIES!
And the wheel has landed on… What is Frank Cho up to? A classic!
Well, if you were wondering what Frank Cho was up to earlier this week, it was, according to his Facebook, "taking a mental break from my DC Comics work, and working on a couple of art commissions for Singapore Comicon next week." And Cho showed off an in-progress Scarlet Witch sketch on August 30:
But less than 48 hours later, the sketch was destroyed, ripped into pieces. Was it a protest against Cho's Outrage drawings? An act of revenge perpetrated by one of Cho's comics enemies, like Greg Rucka, Jeremy Whitley, or Robbi Rodriguez? The answer is more sinister than that! Click the next slide to find out who was behind this sketch destruction!
…
What?! We don't have slideshow technology? Goddamn it, it's 2017! How are we supposed to write a clickb– Okay. Fine. We'll just put it all on one page. Where were we? Oh yeah.
Who was behind the senseless destruction of Frank Cho's Scarlet Witch sketch for Singapore Comicon?!?!
The culprit was… Frank Cho himself?! Cho wrote on Facebook, "Scarlet Witch art. Just wasn't feeling it. Hated the drawing. So I ripped it up and starting over."
Betrayed by himself! Who could have seen this coming! But don't worry, this story has a happy ending. Just a day later, Cho posted an epilogue to the story, writing on Facebook: "Redrew the Scarlet Witch art commission for Singapore Comic Con. Much happier with this drawing than the first one. I'll post the full final image once the ink dries."
So all's well that ends well in the world of Frank Cho.
Or is it?!
Cho revealed on Facebook that he'll be working on a new project next: "Next on my plate, Wonder Woman art commission for Singapore."
Will Frank Cho attempt to tear this drawing up as well?! Tune in to Bleeding Cool next week when we spin the WHEEL OF STORIES again, and maybe you'll find out!
