Marvel Gives Dave Cockrum a Wraparound, Plus More Uncanny X-Men #1 Ch-Ch-Changes

You would think a dozen-person creative team would be enough to handle the relaunch of a classic comic book franchise, but Marvel feels that a little extra was needed, it seems. Uncanny X-Men #1 will now officially feature interior art by Mark Bagley and Mirko Cloak, in addition to the interior art it was already going to feature by Mahmud Asrar. Bagley and Cloak have been known to be contributing art to UXM #1 for months, but news just got around to PreviewsWorld, who have finally updated the solicit as of this week, making it official… unless things ch-ch-change again.

In other PreviewsWorld ch-ch-changes (sorry, we can't seem to say that word without a stutter, not sure what it is), Dave Cockrum's Hidden Gem variant cover, the one pulled from 40-year-old promotional art, is now being solicited as a wraparound variant. It's a good thing, since it would have been pretty awkward to print the thing sideways or cut it off in the middle. Almost as awkward as that photoshop job on Wolvie's fist. Seriously, you can't stop looking at it once you realize it's there, can you? He was holding a beer can, in case you're wondering. Naughty!

Uncanny X-Men #1 hits stores on November 14th, and comes with eight billion skillion available variant covers, including the one above.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
