Eddie Brock and Venom Get a Brand New Look (Venom #13 and Spider-Man FCBD Spoilers)

Marvel events have a habit of getting new costumes for their participants. Indeed, Venom's beginnings are from a certain Secret Wars #8. Sometimes the look lasts the event, sometime for a few issues afterwards, sometimes it stays the course.

In today's Venom #13, and Eddie Brock who is having – let's call it performance issues with his symbiote, discovering that it had kept the truth about his family, of his non-ezistant cancer and even his son from him, in an attempt to keep Eddie and the symbiote together,  all symptoms of a destructive and abusive relationship – gets a sudden fiz. Courtesy of a Dreamstone from a bunch of Frosty Elf Witches, part of the War Of The Realms event. Another handy thing for such crossovers, they can jump in, make some big change, then jump out again, Very handy.

There's only one weapon eddie Brock desires. So we have a new looking Venom as well… with all sorts of Dark Elf symbols. And yes, it is rather Fear Itself-like but Venom never got a hammer in that one.

The same but different. What every superhero comic book reader wants.

But what does this mean for the series? Well we have Venom again. Eddie Brock and his symbiote. But this is an imagined symbiote, not one of the like of symbiotes or of the great god Knull.

Indeed, it has a different deital line of allegiance completely. Could this be how Eddie Brock and Venom get an independent line going in the upcoming Absolute Carnage?

If nothing else, people have a few more cosplay option. And there's biut to be a Funko POP at some point too…
