Free Comic Book Day Almost Doubles In Size Over Two Years

infinityIn 2011, comic stores ordered 2,700,000 comics for Free Comic Book Day. In 2012, that number rocket to 3,500,000. In 2013, it will go up again to 4,600,000 free comic books available to give away on Free Comic Book Day.

May the 4th is also the day after Iron Man 3 comes out in the USA, and it likely that smart comic stores will be taking advantage of that fact, advertising in local cinemas. Brits will get a head start as the movie comes out over here the week previously.

Given the ending of Avengers and teases about Iron Man in space, is this the biggest sign that Thanos will appear in Iron Man 3? Just in time for his appearance on the cover of Marvel's Infinity comic for Free Comic Book Day?
