In Referendum Week, Dan Abnett Represents In Aquaman #1

Dan Abnett is a British comic book writer. He is mostly known these days for writing American comic books for American comic book publishers, though he knows I'll always love his first Knights Of Pendragon series for Marvel UK for being the comic equivalent of Edge Of Darkness. Indeed, he usually doesn't wear his Britishness on his sleeve, happy to write American books without the need to gratuitously shove in a bit of Britishness as others might.

But that ends this week. And in a week where everyone in Britain is examining their national identity as Britain prepares to vote whether or not to leave the European Union in a referendum vote on Thursday, Dan Abnett gives this bit of national pride in Aquaman #1.
