Kitty & Batz: Hypnotic Homicide Kickstarter

Hello! We are Kristi "Batz" Zerga and Dianna "Kitty" Spain and we are the creators, writers, and artists for the comic book series "Kitty & Batz". We have launched a Kickstarter campaign for our first ever graphic novel titled "Kitty & Batz: Hypnotic Homicide"!

I know you're reading this, wondering "Why should I care? What makes "Kitty & Batz" so special that I need to back the project?" Well, to help you realize what an awesome comic book series "Kitty & Batz" is, here is a brief rundown of the origins of the series and what the story and the characters are all about.

Dianna and I met in high school and quickly became friends when we realized that we shared a common interest…we both hated the other students. Some might find it odd that our friendship was formed at the expense of others but I think it's perfectly normal; I mean what could be better than finding someone who shares your interests?

Anyway, not long after we became friends, Dianna and I spent a lot of time together, swapping stories of all the idiots we had to deal with leading up to that point. Then one day, when we were in English class, we got the idea to create a story titled "Kitty and Batz v.s the Penguin" (the penguin being a character based off of a girl Dianna truly hated). It was a fun little story about rain, ice cream, and murder. We thought the story was hilarious but after we shared it with our English class we got nothing but weird stares. Oddly enough, this worked for us and we decided to carry on with the "Kitty and Batz" characters. After a few years of character and story development, many changes, then more character and story development, we finally formed a great foundation for the "Kitty & Batz" series.

The "Kitty & Batz" series is a dark comedy about two sociopathic murderers who go on numerous coffee and cat nip induced adventures. Kitty, a cigarette and cat nip smoking Wiccan who has a love for animals, nature, trippy colors, and is prone to absent mindedness and clumsiness, and her friend Batz, a coffee drinking, anime loving, Robert Downey Jr. stalking Satanist with extremely fowl language and a strong hatred for most of the human population, try to live their lives day by day but the stupidity of humanity are constantly getting in their way. From hippies to preppies, Kitty and Batz take down all who annoy them with a swift and blinding anger that borders on the psychotic!

The series is made up of mini stories, some stories tie together to form a whole, but most of them are random as hell and really have no point at all other than to make the reader laugh and, occasionally, relate the situation. Many of the situations in the "Kitty & Batz" series are loosely inspired and extremely exaggerated on actual events, thoughts, or quotes that have happened to us in real life. Now we say "extremely exaggerated" because Dianna and I are not, nor have we ever been, actual murderers. The "Kitty & Batz" series is just a fun way of venting our frustration and annoyance with the people we have had to deal with in the past. Our personal experiences, exaggerated on or not, make for humorous and entertaining stories that tend to be relateable to the reader.

Now that you have a general idea on what "Kitty & Batz" is about, let's talk a little bit more about our Kickstarter campaign. As stated above, the "Kitty & Batz: Hypnotic Homicide" graphic novel is a compilation of the first three issues from the series. The graphic novel will be between 150-200 pages long and will be in the series signature, trippy happy colors. Along with the first three issues, we will also incorporate new stories with two tiers allowing the backers of the project to become characters in the story. Some of the additional rewards will include; posters, prints, t-shirts, bookmarks, buttons, original art, and much more!

The coolest swag will include many of the additional rewards mentioned above, plus sequentially numbered, hardcover copies of "Kitty & Batz: Hypnotic Homicide" with exclusive cover artwork by Billy Martinez, Tone Rodriguez, Joe Weems V, and John K, which will ONLY be available through our Kickstarter.
