Mickey The Hero – Mickey Mouse #17
What I enjoy the most about these Mickey Mouse Comics is that they show Mickey as we all know him; a hero. Sure he makes mistakes and is flawed, but his bravery still shines through in every story.
We open with "Darkenblot" Part 2, where Mickey and Lieutenant Zark are trying to solve a mystery pertaining to robots in the city robbing, and attacking citizens. We also learn that robots have been taking jobs away from living creatures, and replacing them altogether. While Mickey's hearing about all of this, another robot robbery happens, and Mickey jumps into action. While Mickey does have regard for his own life, he still wants to do the right thing.
On a personal note, I love that there's a character in this story named Roxette, as Roxette is also my favorite band.
The comic also has a one page gag story with Goofy and Mickey, and then we also have a Horace Horsecollar story as well! I love seeing the lesser known Disney characters represented. These stories (translated from whichever European country they're from) are great at showcasing characters we don't see much of in America. I've raved about this series before, and until I'm given a reason not to, I'll continue to do so. This series is fantastic for all ages.
