Neil Vokes The Eagle And Death's Dark Angel Return

30 years ago Neil Vokes, Jack Herman and Rich Rankin created two original indie comics characters Eagle and Death's Dark Angel (previously known as Death's Head). Now there is a kickstarter project designed to bring those characters to  the modern audience in two new 48-page comics.

The mid-eighties were an unparalleled time of creative expression and books like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Watchmen were redefining what comic books could be. But like many of the creations of that era, they've largely been impossible to find since that time. Three decades of having to rummage through long boxes to find the rare copy or win an auction on eBay to find one of these long out of print classic stories. With your help we are bringing Neil's wonderful original characters back with a completely re-mastered ink wash deluxe presentation that preserves the original black and white look but adds layers of texture and tone to the already amazing pencil work. These new editions are oversized – 48 pages each with no ads and deliver the initial story of both Eagle and Death's Dark Angel as well as providing a sneak peek at NEW EAGLE and DEATHS DARK ANGEL comics coming out later this year!

Eagle is about the supernatural laced adventures of a man seeking justice at the end of a sword. The oversized 48 page introduction special is full of vintage and modern Vokes art with no ads. This is the first new chapter of Eagle to be published since 1989 and includes a re-mastered ink washed presentation of the original 1986 Eagle #1 issue. There is also a first look at a new original series by Vokes & Herman.

Death's Dark Angel is the story of the deadly future echo of Eagle which evolved into a terrifying twisted version of the man he was. Now the silent killer has turned his sights on his past self and is set upon destroying those in the way of his singular mission. This edition has been fully remastered with an ink wash finish. And the Vokesverse continues to expand and gives us a first look at an all new Death's Dark Angel story coming later this year.

We are presenting an opportunity for Neil's fans to get some fantastic exclusive comic books and to help us publish one of the great comic book artists of all time. This Kickstarter is designed to help us raise the funds needed to remaster and print these fantastic tales. We're asking that fans consider supporting this great cause and help us to make Neil's many creative tales available to a wider audience. Eagle and Death's Dark Angel will be published by American Mythology Comics who are also doing the Three Stooges and Stargate Atlantis series.
