Page 45 To Run School Library Workshops

It is considered by many to be the finest comic shop in the world.

But that's not enough, apparently.

Steven L Holland from Page 45 in Nottingham, is presenting interactive show-and-tell workshops on Manga And Graphic Novels for school libraries at the School Libraries Conference in Windsor tomorrow.

Displaying fifty specially selected young adult graphic novels during the presentation. Which consists of Steve talking to school librarians about their schools, their pupils, their needs, and how comics can meet them, by way of a devoted section in school libraries, and with a knowledge base of what comics such children are already buying in store. And a way Page 45 can help.

And for those who can't make it, here are the books that Steven is recommending… Anya's Ghost, Beanworld, Bone, Chiggers, Coraline,, Courtney Crumrin vol 1: The Night Things, Death Jr., Grandville:, Grandville: Mon Amour, Gunnerkrigg Court vol 1: Orientation h/c, Life Sucks, Mouse Guard, Robot Dreams, Scott Pilgrim vol 1 (of 6), Silverfin: A Young James Bond Adventure, The Arrival, The Lost Thing, The Plain Janes, The Rabbits, The Unsinkable Walker Bean, Zita The Spacegirl

Day I Swapped My Dad For Two Goldfish s/c, Glister: The Faerie Host, Gum Girl: Catastrophe Calling!, Magic Trixie vol 2: Magic Trixie, Sleeps Over, Simpsons, Sonic The Hedgehog, The Shark King h/c, Vern and Lettuce

Evolution: The Story Of Life On Earth, Judenhass, Making Comics: Storytelling Secrets of Comics, Manga and Graphic Novels, Manga Shakespeare, Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea, Science Tales, Understanding Comics

Asterios Polyp, Daytripper, Persepolis

Bakuman, Bleach, Dragonball Z, Legend Of Zelda, Naruto, Nausicaa Of The Valley Of Wind, One Piece, Pluto, Saga Of Darren Shan

It worked on Stephen after all. He wouldn't read at all, until he was given comics. He ended up with a B.A. Hons in English Literature and the History Of Art…
