Patrick Trahey writes,
Way back in September, Bleeding Cool ran a little article I wrote titled Punching an Ogre in the Face. In it, I compare pursuing a career in comics to punching an ogre, which may not sound like the most enticing endeavor, but hear me out.
Comics is a tough industry. It's hard to bring that dream story to life, and it's hard to make a living doing it (or to make any money at all sometimes). But it is easy to quit.
A lot of people do quit, and that's a shame. It's understandable, because ogres are intimidating, but a shame.
So I took that article I wrote, I contacted an artist I love working with, Pablo Fiorentino (check out his awesome work here), and we made a comic out of it. I hope it gives you a bit of inspiration when that ogre of yours crushes you with its mighty club.
Here it is in all its glory:
And now, with a bit of inspiration in your heart, I hope you'll consider helping me punch my ogre by donating to my Kickstarter campaign. It runs until March 24.
This tale of ogre punching is not included in the Kickstarter, but if I have enough requests to add it to the campaign I will and you could have a physical copy mailed right to your doorstep. If that's something you'd be interested in, email me SolComics.Patrick@gmail.com or message Sol Comics on Facebook or Twitter.
