Danny The Street Officially Appears In This Week's Superboy
It's just one page in this week's Superboy. But it gave me a massive grin. One of my favourite characters, Danny The Street, a sentient transvestite street that moves around the world, cities and towns making space for him wherever he needs to be. A pun on drag act performer Danny La Rue, he was created by Grant Morrison and Brendan McCarthy for Doom Patrol, he was their base for some time, the home for an amnesia Flex Mentallo, and eventually became Danny The World. He only communicates via signage.
Last time in the DCU he had become just a brick. Danny The Block I think it was. Before the relaunch. And in Teen Titans #4 we had this tease…
Which looked pretty Danny The Streety to me… but now he's back. Big time. With editorial confirmation.
Do hope he's still a transvestite. All those gun shops decorated in pink tinsel were to die for. Look for more in Teen Titans #7.
