GLAAD Comics Nominees 2012 AnnouncedThe nominees for this year's GLAAD awards that celebrate the portrayal of LGBT in media have been announced. Including the comics categories. The GLAAD awards generally tend towards the mainstream, those that are more likely to get media attention. Which generally means superheroes. But this year, Archie as well.

The candidates are:

Avengers: The Children's Crusade by Allan Heinberg, Marvel

Batwoman by J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman, DC Comics

Secret Six by Gail Simone, DC Comics

Veronica Presents: Kevin Keller by Dan Parent, Archie Comics

X-Factor by Peter David, Marvel Comics

It's a little annoying how they don't mention the artists, unless the artists are also the writer.
