The Many Animals of Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom
Disney's Animal Kingdom is still pretty young. The park was the fourth park to open in Walt Disney World in 1998, and Kilimanjaro Safaris opened the same day as the park. The 22-minute (longer, if there's an animal blocking your truck) gives visitors a chance to encounter exotic animals in a safari-like atmosphere. While it's no replacement for a real safari in Africa, it's a great substitute for those who can't travel that far.
I've been on the ride once before, and had a herd of zebra blocking the path. This time there was none of that, but the animals were active and moving around last Monday. The ideal times to ride the safari is early in the morning (when the park opens) or late at night. No two rides are exactly the same, and I highly suggest getting a fast pass for this incredible attraction.
