MCM Expo: New Look Logos Ahead Of Its London Con

By Olly MacNamee

As part of a larger rebranding that will take place over the coming year's MCM Expo schedule, and is already noticeable on it's main website, MCM have launched their new look London logo 30 Kilometres into Earth's orbit with a little help from Derbyshire based company Sent Into Space and a GoPro camera to capture the moment.

We are so proud of our new look that we wanted to share it with the whole world, and what better way to do that than to send our logo up into the stars?" said MCM marketing manager Charli Haynes. "Be sure to keep an eye out for the logo a little bit closer to the ground across the city of London and stay tuned for the release of your local MCM Comic Con's own city badge.

Looking at the upcoming Belfast show, I can imagine replacing the current design of an explosion behind the main MCM branding with something different is a great idea, given Belfast's history with explosions in the past. Something a modern day Belfast may not want to be reminded about methinks.

But, as with many things in the UK, it will be the London show getting the first re-design, with Belfast and the rest of the UK, once again having to wait their turn. I'll just have to wait until November to see what Birmingham's own 'city badge' will.
