New Before Watchmen Pages And Dan Didio's Den/Desk
Some people insist that Dan DiDio must sit upon a throne rimmed with the skulls of his enemies. Instead, his office looks more like my teenage bedroom. But larger.
It's part of a puff piece from BuzzFeed, candid shots taken around the DC Offices in a piece called "Working At DC Comics Looks Like A Dream Job." And, yes I know, I can already hear the sarcastic comments from some. I know because they're in my inbox from, let's face it, ex-employees of DC. The most positive of which is "never work in the sausage factory".
And Will Dennis' door quote from Oscar Wilde about friends stabbing you in the front, is rather ironic considering some of the gossip that's been coming out of the company the last few days. It's possible this whole article may be a preemptive strike.
But you know? There are politics in every job. There are people you like, and don't like in every job. Inspired decisions and really stupid ones. At least on 1700 Broadway, you get to read comics at work without being shouted at. And for some, that is the very definition of a dream job.
