Preacher Season 3 SDCC Trailer: Gran'ma L'Angell Deals with The Devil while Tulip Joins The Grail…What???

Jesse (Dominic Cooper) and Tulip (Ruth Negga) are in a rough spot right now: his blood compact with Gran'ma (Betty Buckley) looks rock-solid – unless they kill Gran'ma, if they can believe Jesse's long-abandoned-for-her-own-good girlfriend Madame Boyd (Perma Cruz); they had to ship Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) to New Orleans for his own safety – a move they know they'll have to pay for; and doG (Mark Harelik) just can't stop poking and prodding them – almost daring them to make a move. Did I also mention that Satan is sending The Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) above ground to track a certain twosome who escaped last season. Hmmm…

Desperate times call for desperate measures – and sometimes that means buddying-up with enemies for a "greater" good; and as we can see from the new San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) trailer for AMC's Preacher season 3, we're talking some pretty strange bedfellows: Tulip and Jody (Jeremy Childs)…in The Grail; Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) siding up with The Allfather (Jonny Coyne)…at least for now; Jesse enlising The Grail to wage war on Angelville; and Cassidy teaming with a group of real-life Interview with a Vampire wannabes, lead by the enigmatic Eccarius (Adam Croasdell).

But Gran'ma L'Angell has a certain hellish ace up her sleeve that none of them see coming:

PREACHER is a dramatic thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

The 10-episode third season follows Jesse's quest for God which takes him back to the place he's been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends — and a few enemies — Jesse will need to escape his past…because the future of the world depends on it.

Ian Colletti, Graham McTavish, Pip Torrens, Julie Ann Emery, Malcolm Barrettand Noah Taylor also return for the third season; joined by new series regulars Betty Buckley (Supergirl, Split); Colin Cunningham  (Blood Drive, Falling Skies); Jeremy Childs (The Last Castle, Nashville); Liz McGeever (Star, Nashville);  Jonny Coyne (Turn, Alcatraz); Adam Croasdell (Reign); and Prema Cruz (Mozart in the Jungle).
