The Apple iPad Flip-Flops On Censoring Two Comic Books

After critical coverage in all sorts of media, Apple have reversed a decision to censor the comic book adaptation of The Importance Of Being Earnest, which wasn't exactly sexually explicit but did feature a gay kiss or too. It was even censored when the covered those scenes with black bars.

And now, after a stack of negative publisity of Apple's decision to censor a comic book version of James Joyce's Ulysees, Ulysees Seen, over some barely-bare breasts, it looks like Apple have reversed that decision too.

Apple spokesman Trudy Miller is being quoted as saying "We made a mistake. When the art panel edits of the Ulysses Seen app and the graphic novel adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Importance of Being Earnest app were brought to our attention, we offered the developers the opportunity to resubmit their original drawings and update their apps.."

The moral of this story? If your comic is censored by Apple make a fuss in the right places and suddenly they're realise that they've "made a mistake" again.
