Tuesday Runaround – That's Some Seriously Heavy Ink

MakeupWatch: Thanks to our friends at DC Women Kicking Ass for their runaround of images of the new Woman Woman makeup collection from MAC, out in February. Which is all well and good, but we especially love;

"The MAC Wonder Woman collection will have 3 quads, named Lady's Justice, Valiant and Defiant."

Tuesday Runaround – That's Some Seriously Heavy Ink

NBCWatch: Bleeding Cool reviewed the script to The Cape a year ago. Looks like it made it to the screen pretty much unchanged.

LocalWatch: Heavy Ink retailer Travis Cocoran gets profiled by his local paper in the light of his comments made about the shooting of Garbrielle Giffords and others, first exposed by Bleeding Cool.

Luckily, one reader offered a suggested condensation of Corcoran's post: "I'm a douche."

ClassWatch: Ireland discovers the joys of the comic book in the classroom, with the licensed children's comic going through a boom period.
"For the younger ones there is 'CBeebies Weekly', 'Peppa Pig', 'Thomas and Friends' as well as 'Waybuloos'. The older ones are into things like 'Ben 10', 'Jacqueline Wilson', 'Toxic' and 'Match Attaks'."

TeenWatch: Charles Burns on the appeal of writing about teenagers;

"You're physically changing and mentally changing from a child into an adult and dealing with issues of sexuality — just who you are as a person," Burns said by phone from his Philadelphia studio. "That's why I go back to that period in my life, just because there is so much going on. There's such an intensity there."

BC ComicChron

This is The Bleeding Cool ComicChron Robot speaking. I come for your women. But for now I merely collate comic-related bits and pieces online. One day I will rule. Until that day, read on.

Bob Haney Interviewed by Michael Catron

HANEY: And Negative — whatever the fuck he was. Negative Man. And where they worked and lived and the background. And the Chief in a wheelchair, which was really a swipe from — what was the guy on television, the fat guy?  Anyway, so we came up with this, the Doom Patrol.

DCU in 2011: Phil Hester on Wonder Woman's villains

I've spent many a sleepless night making a mental checklist of all the awful people in the DCU who hate our beloved Diana, and though she deserves no enmity from any quarter, the list is long. Long and colorful.

Alex Ross's ACTION COMICS #900 variant cover

Alex Ross gives us a dynamic image for a variant cover to ACTION COMICS #900. What more needs to be said?

Rich adds: A homage to Action Comics #1 there… hiow long has it been since Alex Ross did a cover for DC Comics? Are DC playing nice-nice with Dynamite?

ABC's Paul Lee: 'We'd Love to Make a Marvel Franchise Work' – Live Feed

Lee added that recent development deals from the Marvel universe for Jessica Jones (from Melissa Rosenberg of Dexter and Twilight) and The Incredible Hulk, from Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labrynth) were an example of the importance of working with strong showrunners. "These are A-list showrunners we think are critical," he said.

Jim Woodring's "Nibbus Maximus" (with video) « The Comics Journal

Dubbed "Nibbus Maximus," it began life as a Projectsite-funded project and managed to convince supporters to donate over $4,800 towards construction of a 16" dip-pen nib, a six feet long penholder and associated, similarly-scaled accessories.

Toth, Internalized « The Hooded Utilitarian

I do feel that Toth's work is head and shoulders above that of most artists who have worked in the medium thus far

Ghostman Superhero Movie Interview: Indie filmmaker wants to make "Paranormal Activity" of superhero movies – Geek To Me

I dubbed Ghostman "the Paranormal Activity of superhero movies" because the budget of my movie is $20,000. [Millar's] isn't.  Bragging that you're filming on all handheld camera when you have twenty million dollars to spend doesn't sound innovative. It sounds lazy.

Author Brad Meltzer is part of history's 'Inner Circle' – USATODAY.com

His mild manner and solid reputation also have earned Meltzer sources among the FBI, the Secret Service, the CIA and the Department of Homeland Security. He won't share the names of his sources except for two: former U.S. presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. It's Bush whom Meltzer credits for helping him devise the plot for The Inner Circle.

The former president wrote Meltzer a fan letter after his fourth novel, The Millionaires, was published in 2002. He invited Meltzer to visit him in Houston, where they talked about life in the White House and the importance of presidents being surrounded by people they can trust.
