Secrets Of The Battleworld – Read Siege #4 Before Secret Wars #6? (SPOILERS)
Today sees the long awaited release of Secret Wars #6, and a number of Secret Wars tie-ins. And an actual tie-in as well. Meanwhile Marvel also releases the All-New All-Different Marvel relaunch titles that occur after Secret Wars has concluded and everything has kinda gone back to normal. Ish.
So how did it get that way? And what to this week's titles suggest?
Here is a scene from near the end of Secret Wars #6. We know from previous issues that Thanos from the 6161 Universe had been transported by Doctor Strange to The Shield. When we next catch up with him, he has been captured… and is talking to his cell.
We see the same conversation at much greater length in Siege #4, as well as the circumstances of Thanos' capture It's a tough call but I'd say read Seige first, though there will be spoilers whichever way you go. But this is the first time we've seen one of the spinoff titles directly crossover with the main book.
Talking of which, I'm not sure how they'll tie up the events of Future Imperfect with this issue… that saw Maestro attack Doom, only to be trapped in an illusion of his own making. Maybe Doom just remade everything, as he did in Attilan Rising? Handy for continuity, omnipotence.
We also learn that the Grimm seen above isn't the original 616 Grimm. And neither are Doom;s wife Sue Storm or the Human Torch in the sky above… as Susan recounts…
There is a little anti-Doom uprising in the tone of a Dinothor over in Spider-Verse…
While in Old Man Logan, it's positively blatant and may well tie into Ultimate End. Or not.
And in 1602: Witch Hunter Angela eve the characters are complaining about the twist and turn of the plot.
Though as Amazing Spider-Man #1 will also show you today, 1602 survives the end of the Secret Wars….
As to who else survives the Secret Wars… that's for another even more spoilery article!
