Spider-Mania: Out of Control Marvel to Introduce Another Spider-Man in May
In May, Marvel will publish eighteen single-issue comic books featuring a Spider-Person. For the record, that's two issues of War of the Realms: Spider-Man and the League of the Realms, Champions (which features Miles Morales), three issues of Amazing Spider-Man (including one .HU issue tacked on because @#$% you that's why), a reprint of Web of Spider-Man #31 (Kraven's Last Hunt), a reprint of What If? #105 (Spider-Girl), Spider-Man: City at War (the video game Spider-Man), Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Symbiote Spider-Man (set in the 1980s Marvel continuity), Spider-Man Life Story (an alternate universe Peter Parker), Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, Superior Spider-Man (Doctor Octopus as Spider-Man), Spider-Man/Deadpool, and Marvel Team-Up (featuring Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel). For comparison, there are 25 issues of War of the Realms and its associated tie-ins coming out that month.
Some might say that Marvel has let its tendency to produce new Spider-Man comics get a little bit out of control. Maybe they should reign it in, perhaps cut back the Peter Parker books to just four or five. But Marvel is taking things in the opposite direction. In May's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Marvel will release a new Spider-Man, named Spider-Bite, sure to become a web-slinging sensation.
Which will eventually lead to Spider-Bite getting a solo series. Or two. Or five.
When will it end, Marvel?! When will it end?!
