At the end of September, Destiny City comics of Tacoma, Washington, posted the following, all-too-familiar news,

Started by former Fantagraphics intern Michael Fitzgerald five years ago, he told the local paper that Destiny City Comics was profitable, but issues with Diamond Comic Distributors coupled with the exhaustion of running a small business contributed to his decision.

But then the store suddenly had a possible lifeline from local wrestling star and customer of the shop, Matt Nebeker, better known as Ethan HD, who announced he wanted to buy the comic store and keep it going with his wife Stephanie. He is talks to buy the business, take over the rent and keep the store operating.

Nebeker is in talks with Fitzgerald to purchase the business, take over the rent and keep the doors open, using a combination of small business loans and money raised through crowdfunding to make it happen. He has currently raised $2,793 raised of $12,000 goal.
