TOLDJA: Details Of Marvel Comics #1000 Revealed

You may have been following Bleeding Cool's articles on what we said would be called Marvel Comics #1000 for August. A book with 80 one-page stories by all manner of comic book creators, the details of fifty-five or so creative teams, revealed so far, as if Marvel had been publishing Marvel Comics every month since 1939, 80 years ago to the month. oWell now the New York Times is saying it to, with the offcial PR courtesy of their comic book specialist George Gene Gustines.

And now we have more details.

Each page of the 80 page comic will correlate to one year in Marvel history.

As well as Captain America, Thor and Iron Man, we also get Blue Marvel, Night Thrasher and the Three X's.

The first panel of the story in No. 1000, which has a painted cover by Alex Ross, comes from that 1939 Marvel Comics #1, with an artifact known as the Eternity Mask.

The comic was conceptualised with Al Ewing who is writing a number of the pages.
