Whilce Portacio To Launch A New Philippine Studio For The Comic Book Industry

IMG_20140724_215517702Over the last few decades, the comic creator studios that grew out of the nineties boom have faded away. South American studios also have less of a presence.

But talking to Whilce Portacio at Artists Alley in San Diego Comic Con, I learned of his new plans. And right now that's creating a studio system in the Philippines, with an aim to take on the local talent who can't get work at the Big Two, and help, develop and grow their work, with Whilce Portacio acting as an art director.

He has investment and partners and is rather excited by the whole thing… good luck, Whilce!
