Zack Kaplan Follows 'Eclipse' With 'Port Of Earth'

I got to do an early review of the Top Cow series Eclipse a while back and it struck me as a true science fiction series with a mystery. A genre that has been neglected up until recently, and the good examples I've seen are coming out of Top Cow. I then got to sit next to Zack on FCBD this year and watched him work. They guy knows how to sell his series. Someone would come up to  his table and he'd say something simple as, "Imagine a world where it's so hot stepping outside will kill you…" and people started digging for their cash. I figured that pitch would work everywhere except Phoenix, AZ…

Zack is back with a new series coming from Top Cow in November with artist Andrea Mutti (Prometheus). A gritty science fiction series called Port of Earth. Here is the concept: Aliens have come to Earth, not in war or peace, but with a business deal: open up a spaceport here on Earth in exchange for advanced technology. But when our alien visitors break Port restrictions and wreak havoc in our cities, it falls to the newly formed Earth Security Agency to hunt down and safely deport the dangerous rogue aliens back to the Port of Earth.

Kaplan says:

My passion for sci-fi is very ancient, beginning when I was really young with Star Wars, Star Trek, Galactica, Space 1999, UFO, Alien, and dozens of other books and comics.

Top Cow's President Matt Hawkins said:

When Zack Kaplan pitched me Port of Earth I loved it immediately. It's like They Live meets 1492. If you like to read stuff that's awesome and doesn't suck, this book's for you.

Port of Earth #1 is set to launch this November. And here we have a cover and a few preview pages for you to see.
