Zenescope Announces New Horror Series, Peek-A-Boo, At MCM London Comic Con

Peek-A-Boo, a new horror comic book series from Zenescope, was announced at MCM London Comic Con today. The comic comes from co-founders of Zenescope and creators of Grimm Fairy Tales, Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco. It follows a family living with tragedy going on a camping trip, and things do not end well…

Jen from Zenscope was at the Diamond Retailer Meeting at MCM London Comic Con today, as well as managing the booth. Her presentation to retailers recognised difficulties in ordering from a small publisher at the back of the Previews catalogue, but she made a strong impression on retailers regarding upcoming titles from the publisher, as well as their backing of retailers who took a chance with them.

She acknowledged a certain reputation for a certain titillating cover common to Zenescope titles, but wanted to emphasise that was only part of their offering and that they wanted to highlight their science-fiction, action-adventure, and horror titles as well.

Jen discussed Grimm's Fairy Tales moving from traditional fairy tales to more medieval tales, including The Three Musketeers, as well as their double-sized Holiday Specials and new series Robyn Hood The Curse from Chuck Dixon and Julius Abrera. Then there's the upcoming Van Helsing vs. Robin Hood, and sci-fi books such as Black Sable, a surge in interest in their colouring books, and how the UK seems to have a special interest in those. And Diamond will be providing them with downloadable PDFs of upcoming issues starting tomorrow.

There was another project talked about that could also be a breakout hit, but that probably deserves an article all of its own. Take a look at the rest of their presentation to UK retailers, and there will be plenty more to come.
