"Robots and Guardians introduces an action-packed new scenario in which players must protect Hope, the first sentient android. Having rescued Hope from the clutches of her makers, a ruthless manufacturing consortium, the group of rebels must defend against their attempts to reclaim their priceless assets. Seeking refuge on an uncharted planet in the outer worlds, the rebels must build a safe and secure haven in which Hope's developing mind can continue to advance. As Hope's intellect increases, players will be able to select new skills and unlock new traits. She can also develop the need for rest and potentially form bonds with members of the group. New resources, SilicaEnergel and SilicaEnergel Plus can be crafted to provide sustenance for Hope, who cannot consume human food."

"Throughout the scenario, players must devise innovative strategies to ensure the rebels can overcome waves of automated attacks from the consortium, fighting against combat robots, battle drones, and mobile turrets in order to shield Hope and achieve victory. With new challenges come new technologies. Rebels will be able to research, construct, and utilize a range of new weaponry, including defense bots, mobile machine guns, laser-equipped turrets, laser swords, and more. Robots can be drafted into battle, after which they will return to semi-automated command stations. Bots, mobile turrets, and laser swords can also be leveraged across all Stranded: Alien Dawn scenarios."

"In addition to defense technologies, players can unlock new ways to automate tasks and improve efficiency in all scenarios. Service and harvest bots can help the rebels with cooking, planting crops, and gathering resources, while a futuristic healing device allows both Hope and humans to be treated without a healer or doctor. Also introduced with the PDLC is new survivor, Henry Caldwell. A battle-hardened veteran on a quest to reclaim his humanity, Henry has emerged from adversity stronger, with robotic limb replacements and specialist skills in close combat, making him an ideal choice for any group living under threat of attack.
