Phil Spencer Clarifies Comments Made About Sony The Other Day

A few days ago, Xbox boss Phil Spencer made some pretty candid remarks about the Xbox One's current standing in the market. In short he said that he felt he was still trying to rectify the damage done by the console's bungled reveal with his interest in regaining gamer trust as opposed to beating Sony who already have a big lead.

Responding to comments on Twitter, Spencer has clarified his comments saying that the Xbox division is totally focused on the console they are making and their own audience.

All the noise I've seen out of Phil Spencer has impressed me since he took over as Xbox boss, and the guy doesn't seem to hide behind too much PR handling. That goes a long way in building that consumer trust that the division needs. To see him talk about the broader market outside of Xbox is delightful, and feels important I reckon. I hope he is happy talking about his competitiors honestly all he wants in the future.
