Joe Morton Says 'Cyborg' Is Still Slated For 2020

Joe Morton is going to have a small role in Justice League as Dr. Silas Stone, AKA Cyborg's father. However, that role is going to expand in the solo movie. In an interview with Comic Book Movie, Morton was asked about the state of the Cyborg movie and his casting:

"As far as I know it is still happening. I believe, although I'm not entirely sure, that it should start sometime around 2020. That seems to be a wonderful metaphoric year for these Cyborgs."

Morton was asked about how he was cast in the role of Silas Stone and where he was when he found out:

"I got a call from my agent saying, 'Zack Snyder wants to talk to you about doing Justice League. A couple of days later I got a call him. I was sitting in an airport getting ready to come out to California to film Scandal, and he offered me the role."

He went on to talk about the contract he's under, which gives us a hint of where Dr. Stone could be going from here. Morton also makes it sound like it's a negotiable deal that could change if the DC Extended Universe continues to do well.

Justice League

"It was set up as a three picture deal. The first being Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, the second one being Justice League and the third one being the Cyborg film. So that's how it's been set up, but it's all contingent on how these movies do. And so far, Wonder Woman did really well, and we're hoping that Justice League does equally as well.

We're all just hoping for a good movie, Mr. Morton.

Summary: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.

Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder, stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher. and Henry Cavill. It will be released on November 17th.
