Josh Brolin Will Star In Everybody's Cinematic Universe, Except James Cameron's
The Avatar sequels are getting ready to film back to back in a way that has been described as "a Mongolian clusterfuck" by a returning star. There are plenty of people looking to jump on the massive sequel train considering how much money Avatar made, but one of those people that turned the project down is Josh Brolin. In a new interview with Esquire, Brolin admitted he turned down a role in the Avatar sequel, and is unapologetic about the tension it caused:
"If I don't want to do Avatar, I'm not going to do Avatar. James Cameron's fucking calling me this name and that name. Whatever. If James Cameron came to me and said, 'Hey, man, why'd you say that?' I'd go, 'Because it happened.'"
Brolin is currently starring in two major comic book franchises already — he's going to be Cable in Deadpool 2, making him officially part of the X-Men universe, and he'll be playing the villainous Thanos in the upcoming Avengers sequels. Brolin also has a role in the Sicario sequel Soldado, so the man is plenty busy as it is. His frank attitude about the entire thing is refreshing in a way that feels real compared to how fake the rest of Hollywood can be.
Brolin can also be seen in the firefighter drama Only the Brave, opening on October 20th.
