New Behind-The-Scenes Video For 'War For The Planet Of The Apes'

Even if you're not a hue fan of the new trilogy of Planet of the Apes movies you cannot deny that the technology behind them is something else. War for the Planet of the Apes is no different and 20th Century Fox posted a new behind-the-scenes video showing how the movie magic is done. We get some interviews with a few cast and crew members along with seeing some of the special effects being created. We see how important it is to have a good actor doing the motion capture work and how veterans like Andy Serkis have truly taken this technology and turned it into an art form. While Serkis likely isn't going to ever get the credit he deserves from the award circuit people like him are helping create a whole new form of acting that will be respected properly someday.

There is also a new TV spot that shows off some new footage for the upcoming movie. It mostly has to do with the idea of legacy and how the actions of the humans and the apes are going to define the type of world this will be going forward. The scene where Caesar (Serkis) screams "leave him!" really highlights how emotional this film is going to be. We also get some more hints about the epic final battle that will take place in the third act along with some more footage of Nova (Amiah Miller).

Summary: After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.

War for the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, and Terry Notary. It will be released on July 14th.
