For the first time, as a fan, I've watched a trailer for The Dark Tower and actually feel a little hope in my heart (aside from the casting). Sony has put out a new international trailer for the upcoming adaptation of the Stephen King epic and it's the best trailer for the movie that we've seen so far.
The marketing for this has been very soft and there have been some wondering if Sony has any faith in the production, considering how they tend to over advertise their films often to the detriment of the film itself.
We get to see some more of the various fights between the Roland (Idris Elba) and The Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey). The two of them have a great dynamic and it's going to be a lot of fun to see them play off of each other. We also get to see some more of Roland's skills as as he uses guns and bullets to a level that rivals Wanted or Equilibrium.
This is the first time The Dark Tower has looked like it's going to be fun on top of epic or thrilling, which is so important when it comes to these books. There is a reason they have a rabid following of extremely devoted fans that have been watching this production very carefully. This trailer, which is the one they should be pushing, is the one that will make anyone excited about this movie.
