See The Pym Technologies Building Implode… For Real This Time (Set Your Alarms)
In Marvel's Ant-Man, one of the big scenes in the movie is the implosion of the Pym Technologies building. And Implosion was definitely the right word as the building exploded into itself and then vanished. It was a really cool scene. The featurette below shows how they filmed the scene with the Tank coming out of the side of the building.
The building used as Pym Technologies was actually the Georgia Archives building and it is set to be demolished at 7 AM EST March 5th (tomorrow morning) and you can see it happen live here. The 55,000 ton building is expected to fall at a 45 degree angle and the are using 500 lbs of explosives. If you are in the area, you can watch the explosion from the parking deck next to Liberty Plaza in front of the state capitol. The space will eventually be replaced by a state judicial building.
The information was originally tweeted out by the films director, Peyton Reed. Good thing the building was destroyed in the film or location scouts would be looking for a replacement for the upcoming sequel.
