Star Wars Character Tendra Risant Calrissian To Make Live Action Debut
It's been a long time since we've reported anything relating to those types of films that you don't let your mother know you watch. The kind that for the last few years have used costume closer to their comic book counter parts than the regular TV and Film… when they are wearing them. But this story was too good to pass up.
Seems that one of the characters introduced into the Star Wars canon and has either appeared or been mentioned in novels 19 times will be making her live-action début in a film by Axel Braun. Casey Calvert will play Tendra Risant Calrissian, the wife of Lando Calrissian and mother of Lando Jr. will be introduced in the director's next parody project, one that he is crowdsourcing and plans to give away free on the internet.
Tendra was introduced in the novel Ambush at Corellia, written by Roger McBride Allen. In the novels she is a wealthy, Sacorrian businesswoman who ends up wedding the former owner of the Millennium Falcon. Her role in the new film will be to connect together some of the early relationship between Lando and Han Solo.
The attention to detail being paid to this film is not surprising. One of the director's earlier projects, a parody of the Batman 1966 series, was trying to be so authentic that the actor playing the Joker grew a moustache only to have white make-up applied over it in the same was that Caesar Romero had done, and the original costume designers from the show were pulled out of retirement of one last job…
…and yes, it was that kind of job.
