Things Get Slashery In New Until Dawn Footage
I got to play Until Dawn at EGX this summer and it was probably one of the biggest surprises I got at the convention. I wasn't expecting much from the slasher-horror inspired game since the idea of playing a shlocky B-movie didn't actually excite me as much as it should have.
Fortunately, what I played appeared to be much smarter than I thought it would be. While not revolutionary, the game played like a more interactive Telltale adventure with a decent amount of detective work. The story seemed to be hinting at something self-aware too, a little more Cabin in the Woods than I Know What You Did Last Summer. I could be completely wrong on that front, but from what I've seen, this game looks nifty.
You can take a further look at the game with this new footage showing 8 minutes of gameplay. Until Dawn does seem to be upholding the same leering gaze to scantily clad women as the genre does though, so it'd be nice to see Supermassive Games do something a little more inspired with that trope later on.

Until Dawn will be with us on PlayStation 4 later on next year. Hopefully they keep it in the first half of the year rather than push it around Halloween for promotion reasons. It would no doubt get lost in the shuffle around that time.
