Titans Cast Big Hero 6's Ryan Potter As Live Action Beast Boy
The new live-action Titans series has found their Beast Boy. Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6 The Series) has been cast to play Garfield 'Gar' Logan, the green, shape-shifting member of the team. The series, executive produced by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter, is set to premiere in 2018 on a new DC branded digital streaming service.
Gar is described as having contracted a lethal disease on an African safari with he geneticist parents, only to experience some 'bizarre side-effects' after being treated with an experimental drug. His skin and hair have both turned completely green and he can transform into any animal of any size. Gar is described as being both wisecracking and fun-loving.
Beast Boy, who has also gone by the name Changeling, first appeared in the pages of Doom Patrol #99 in 1965 by Arnold Drake and Bob Brown. He was later brought into the Teen Titans by Marv Wolfman and George Perez in 1980. This is where he first started using the more mature name Changeling, though he is still best known as Beast Boy. 
The new live-action series focuses on 'soon-to-be' superheroes recruited by Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites). The series also stars Anna Diop (The Messengers) as Starfire, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Alan Ritchson (Blood Drive) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
