Major WWE Star Will Return to Join Commentary Team on Mixed Match Challenge

WWE has revealed the announce team for Mixed Match Challenge, the interactive mixed tag tournament that will air as a brand-new show exclusively on Facebook in January. Byron Saxton and Renee Young broke the news in a Facebook video whose poor audio quality and unstable camera hopefully don't represent what we can expect to see from the new show, though we suppose it would add authenticity to a program airing exclusively on social media.

Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and WWE Hall-of-Famer Beth Phoenix will be the announce team on the show. In addition, Saxton and Young will serve as hosts for the show.

"We know Beth Phoenix has been a trailblazer," Saxton said of Phoenix. "She was in the Royal Rumble match years ago. Four-time champion."

"She's done so much. She's just been such a pinnacle, amazing point for all women in WWE to look up to, but for her to walk in and do commentary for the first time, do you have any words of wisdom for Beth?" Young asked Saxton.

"Just be the Glamazon, Beth," Saxton replied, as useful as ever.

Mixed Match Challenge kicks off on January 16th. The show will pit teams of male and female wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown Live in a tag team wrestling tournament. Viewers will be able to interact with the show by voting on aspects of the match-ups.

Check out the video below, which features speculation on the team-ups as well as some gossip about the love life of Enzo Amore and Nia Jax.
