CM Punk Returns to NYC's MSG for First WWE Return Match (VIDEO)

CM Punk checked in via video ahead of his return to NYC's Madison Square Garden tonight for his first WWE match in over nine years.

Sure, his return at Survivor Series: Wargames on November 25th was internet-breaking. And yes, there were a whole lot of folks waiting to hear what he had to say when he returned to USA Network's Monday Night Raw two days later. But for WWE fans, December 26, 2023, is the date that they've been waiting for because that's when CM Punk makes his return to New York City's Madison Square Garden. Why's that important? Because it's Punk's first time back at MSG since his return – but bigger than that, it's his first WWE match in over nine years. Needless to say, there will be a whole lot of folks posting videos on social media – and we're including the WWE in that mix. Now, we're getting a chance to hear from Punk before the card kicks off at 7:30 pm ET. On his personal Instagram account, Punk shared some mini video clips as he headed into MSG and signed posters ahead of the door opening at 6 pm ET.

Along with Punk taking on Judgement Day's "Dirty" Dom Mysterio, the card for tonight's kick-off of the WWE Live Holiday Tour 2023 is pretty stacked. We have Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Grudge Match, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bull Rope Match, and Sami Zayn & Jey Uso vs. Judgement Day's Finn Balor & Damian Priest for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. In addition, WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston, Ricochet, Omos, and more are expected to see action (with the lineup subject to change, of course). Here's a look at the video posted by the WWE as Punk shares his thoughts on his return to NYC's MSG.

And here's a look back at what Punk had to say about his future WWE intentions on both "Raw" and " SmackDown":
