Marvel's Jeph Loeb Talks The Defenders, Iron Fist, and Agent Carter
Marvel TV Chief Jeph Loeb did a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) to promote the premiere of Marvel's Cloak and Dagger tonight on Freeform, and in doing so he was asked about all of the other Marvel television properties. Most of his answers fell in the "wait and see" or "anything could happen" category that Kevin Feige is so good at evoking, but a few questions got some very interesting answers.
The first one has to do with the Netflix series that brought Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) together, Marvel's The Defenders. When asked if we would be seeing a second series of the team-up, Loeb responded that it wasn't in the plans at the moment, but you never know.
When asked if Iron Fist would be getting something akin to a super suit, Loeb said, "You'll be very happy with season 2 coming this year!"
He commented that Hayley Atwell would still be willing to come back for Agent Carter if they could find a network for it. Also they're still shopping around New Warriors after Freeform passed on the series.
And on the topic of that Avengers: Infinity War ending, Loeb said:
"For the most part our stories will take place before Thanos clicked his fingers. A lot of that has to do with production and when we are telling our stories vs. when the movies come out."
So everything happening from now until May 2019 takes place before Infinity War. Good to know.
