Outlander: Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish are Men in Kilts for STARZ
Good news, Outlander fans. While there are no guarantees there won't be another "Droughtlander" before the sixth season finds its way onto STARZ, at least you'll have a chance to see more of Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish (long live Preacher), The cable network released a teaser for Scottish road trip docu-series Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, which has our on-screen Jamie and Dougal taking viewers along on their adventures as they discover the rich, complex heritage of their native country.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the half-hour episodes will include trips to Glencoe (the site of both a great massacre and major clan feud) to Inverness and the Culloden battlefield (the site of a great battle, as well as a historic turning point that's well known to Outlander fans). Created by Heughan and McTavish, Senior Vice President of Original Programming Karen Bailey and Senior Vice President of Unscripted Programming Alice Dickens-Koblin will oversee the project for STARZ.
The journey of "Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham" takes viewers from the heart of Scotland at Glencoe, the site of a great massacre and major clan feud to Inverness and the Culloden battlefield, the site of a great battle and historic turning point, known well to fans of "Outlander," that molded Scotland as we know it today.
For Christina Davis, President, Original Programming of Starz, the actors' familial and professional connections with their travels elevates the project to a more personal travel experience for viewers to share: "The genuine curiosity and passion that Sam and Graham have for the landscapes they visit and the stories they uncover while traveling through the heart of Scotland makes 'Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham' a truly enjoyable journey of discovery for the audience. The series gives context and texture to Highland life and history, woven together, much like the tartan for which Scotland is so famous, and we look forward to taking this road trip with these two great friends." Holly Jacobs, Executive Vice President, Alternative and Syndication Programming, Sony Pictures Television, seconds those sentiments: "We are so excited to take viewers on this epic adventure with Sam and Graham. Their bond of friendship and genuine curiosity about the rich culture of Scotland is going to make for an unforgettable journey for all."
