RUMOR: Lady Sif TV Show in the Works for Disney+
Disney's new streaming service coming out this year means there will be lots of rumors concerning new content. That means unless you see something with Disney confirming a show or movie, take it with a grain of salt. This time, the rumor comes from the people over at Discussing Film. They say that another Marvel show is on the way to Disney+ and this one will star Lady Sif, portrayed in other media by Jamie Alexander.
In some ways, this makes a lot of sense. One of the reasons Sif was missing from Thor: Ragnarok is because of Alexander's commitments to her show Blindspot on NBC. The show was a bit of a surprise renewal back in May 2018 but there are some outlets, like TV By The Numbers, who think the show is on the way out. Alexander wouldn't have Blindspot getting in the way and TV is the easiest way to have a steady paycheck for an actor.
Discussing Film says that Marvel, Disney, and Alexander's rep did not reply for comment, so take this rumor for what it is for now. It wouldn't be that surprising of a show for Disney to pursue; Sif was one of the characters that people really liked from the Thor movies. Much like the Loki series, Sif is a character that has been around for a long time. They could set the show in a lot of different time periods and have it work out just fine. Blindspot is proof that Alexander can carry a show–it would be stupid not to take advantage of that.
Marvel and Disney currently have shows based on Loki, Scarlet Witch and the Vision, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier in development for Disney+.
