Scarlett Johansson made a surprise return to Saturday Night Live this week to reprise her role as Ivanka Trump in a Christmas themed cold open. The scene involved Alec Baldwin as the President decorating the 'tree of shame' with ornaments of people he had vanquished in his first year. Johanson arrives with a ornament with the face of Roy Moore on it and claimed to have tried to make an ornament with Steve Bannon on it, but his head was too big so she brought a Mad Ball instead. This continues the shows tradition of not having anyone specific play Bannon, having chosen in the past to use a Grim Reaper instead.
Also appearing in the sketch was Cecily Strong as Melania, Mikey Day as Donald Jr., Alex Moffat as Eric, Aidy Bryant as Sarah Huckabee Sanders who brought ornaments of Anthony Scaramucci and Sean 'Spicy' Spicer. Kate McKinnon pulled double duty as both Kellyanne Conway and Jeff Sessions and Leslie Jones debuted her impersonation of Omarosa Manigult who just recently left the White House.
Johansson is dating Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost who was just named new co-head writer along with his weekend update partner Michael Che. Johansson will be reprising her role as Natasha Romanov aka the Black Widow in Avengers: Infinity War which will be released May 4th, 2018.
