The Punisher Season 2: Trailer to Drop Tomorrow, Viral Marketing, Poster, and Motion Posters

We're less than ten days away from the release of the second season of The Punisher and the marketing has been pushing some interesting things out. First, today we found out that the first trailer is going to drop tomorrow. It came with a neat little 10-second video.

We get the trailer tomorrow but that didn't stop the official twitter account from sharing the first official poster. The Netflix shows tend to have good posters but this one is pretty badass overall.

Next, we have some viral marketing. One of the things that will be explored is Billy Russo aka Jigsaw [though we've heard he won't be called that]. Russo got his face ruined at the end of the first season and we know that is going to mess with his head. We're getting a peek into that psyche with some viral marketing. We have seven pages of "therapy sessions" concerning Russo which tell us some interesting things such as he can't remember what happened to him. We also see mentions of sketches which is likely what the notebook we see above is. We also see the word "jigsaw" mentioned several times. There is also a video.

Finally, over the last month, a lot of short videos have been shared and some motion posters most of which focus on Russo. It'll be interesting to see how they handle this villain.

Summary: After the murder of his family, Frank Castle becomes a vigilante known as "the Punisher", who aims to fight crime by any means necessary.

The Punisher, from showrunner Steve Lightfoot, stars Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Deborah Ann Woll, Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, Giorgia Whigham, Corbin Bernsen, and Annette O'Toole. It will stream to Netflix on January 18th.
