"ThunderCats Roar!" Official Trailer Shows Teamwork Is…THE BEST!!!! [PREVIEW]
The continuing battle between Lion-O's ThunderCats and Mumm-Ra crash lands onto Cartoon Network with ThunderCats Roar!, Warner Bros. Animation's reboot of the feline-like alien heroes. How excited? It made our The Bleeding Cool Top 30 TV Series Influencers 2020 list in a big way – but you can read up more on that here.
Less than a month after Cartoon Network confirmed that the series would see the light of day in 2020, viewers received the first official teaser that shared our heroes' backstory on the road to Third Earth – and how they'll need to protect their new home from an old threat.
Now we know when their battle for Third Earth will be waged (aside from being on the CN app), with the series set to launch on Cartoon Network with "Exodus Part 1 & 2" beginning Saturday, February 22, at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT. Episodes "The Legend of Boggy Ben" and "Prank Call" will follow on Saturday, February 29.
Even better? We now have the official trailer – which you can enjoy below:

But their enemies, the Mutants of Plun-Darr have followed them and it turns out Third Earth already has a Mumm-Ra problem, can Lion-O learn the ropes of being a leader in time?
ThunderCats Roar! features Max Mittelman voicing Lion-O and WilyKat; Patrick Seitz as Tygra and Mumm-Ra; Erica Lindbeck as Cheetara and WilyKit; Chris Jai Alex as Panthro; Larry Kenney as Jaga; Trevor Devall as Slithe; Andrew Kishino as Jackalman; Jim Meskimen as Monkain; and Dana Snyder as Vultureman and Berbils.
"I think the world that they built lends itself really well to comedy because of how silly and crazy and outlandish those ideas are and some of those settings are. But at the same time, it wouldn't be ThunderCats if it didn't have super cool action elements because that's what people came back to. It's very much something that we want to lean on. So with the new show, we're not walking away from the action in any bit. Every step we take towards comedy, we take two more towards really cool action scenes and explosions and lasers and actions effects."
– Victor Courtright, Producer
Going with an animation style and new approach to the characters, show producer Victor Courtright spoke with Entertainment Weekly about what fans can expect:
"I think the world that they built lends itself really well to comedy because of how silly and crazy and outlandish those ideas are and some of those settings are. But at the same time, it wouldn't be ThunderCats if it didn't have super cool action elements because that's what people came back to. It's very much something that we want to lean on. Staying true to the premise of the original series, Lion-O and the ThunderCats — Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Wilykat, and Wilykit — barely escape the sudden destruction of their home world, Thundera, only to crash land on the mysterious and exotic planet of Third Earth. Lion-O, the newly appointed Lord of the ThunderCats, attempts to lead the team as they make this planet their new home. A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, including the evil Mumm-Ra, Third Earth's wicked ruler who will let nothing, including the ThunderCats, stop his tyrannical reign over the planet.
ThunderCats Roar stars Max Mittelman (Justice League Action) as Lion-O and Wilykat; Erica Lindbeck (DC Super Hero Girls) as Cheetara and Wilykit; Patrick Seitz (Justice League Action) as Tygra and Mumm-Ra; and Chris Jai Alex (Star Wars: Battlefront II) as Panthro.
