What is Going On with AEW Wrestling Star MJF?
Is AEW star MJF okay? Maxwell Jacob Friedman is widely regarded as one of the best heels in the wrestling business, and a big part of that is his willingness to say or do anything to further his heel persona. So when Friedman began making tweets about "something awful" that happened to him, it left fans wondering whether it was another work or something more serious. Last week, Friedman responded to a fan wondering why MJF doesn't wrestle more by saying, "I wish I could put my body on the line more for you guys. I truly care so much about you being entertained during your hour of need. Unfortunately, something awful has happened to me, and it has gradually gotten worse. I can't comment on what the issue is at this time."
MJF Doubles Down
Friedman posted more info about the issue this weekend, tweeting, "My Issue has gotten worse, It's looking like I Might need surgery. I'm genuinely trying my very best to come back for you guys." Now that one seems even more unlike MJF, a man who would give the finger to a child if it furthered his heel gimmick. Is something really wrong? Or we all just jabronie marks without a life that don't know it a work when you work a work and work yourself into a shoot? Who knows?
But either because this situation is totally real and really getting to him, or to work us further, MJF decided to take a break from Twitter. "Going to take a break from Twitter," he posted in response to his tweet above. And that's been his last tweet for eight hours and counting.
The Bottom Line' Cause Chad Said So
If MJF is hurt in some way, of course, I wish him the absolute best in recovery. And if he's working me, well, he's doing a great job as usual! These are strange times that we're living in right now, and pro wrestling is a strange business, to begin with. All I can do is hope that MJF appears on my television screen sometime very soon.
