WWE Releases More Early '90s Superstars Episodes on WWE Network

WWE is adding more episodes of Superstars, the syndicated television show launched as Superstars of Wrestling in the 1980s but shortened to Superstars in 1992 due to a trademark issue. Before the launch of Monday Night Raw, Superstars was WWE's flagship show, airing on Saturday mornings at least for some U.S. viewers, though the show was syndicated and broadcast at different times in different places. Superstars generally tended to feature squash matches but also started and furthered the storyline that would usually pay off on pay-per-view. The show is fondly remembered from the 1980s and 1990s childhoods of many wrestling fans, which is why it was a big deal when WWE first began adding episodes to the WWE Network last year.

The binge-watching subscription service is available for $9.99 a month in the United States and features both classic content, original series, and all WWE PPVs. However, rumor has it the company plans to add new tiers of service in the near future, though how those plans may be affected by the coronavirus pandemic are unknown.
