Will Curiosity Kill The Catwoman Reader?

DC Comics has gotten frustrating for me, the whole new 52 has pretty much been a let down save for a few of the series' and a few of the writers. Simone, Snyder and Williams, all very good in my opinion. But this week saw issue number four of Justice League of America hit the shops. It had the death of a League member: Selina Kyle aka Catwoman was executed, point blank head shot, showing the blood splatter and everything.

Honestly truth be told, Catwoman has gotten out of everything from heists to traps to having her heart carved out by Hush, she has came back from it all. Not to mention being Batman's friend with benefits so to speak in the new 52. But this last scene, her death it was perfectly done. This would be perfect, not a death in battle, or by accident, how many villains have captured and tied up the hero or heroine, only for them to gloat and escpae, all of them. This villain gloated, and then did the deed, he killed the hero.

Wendy writes;

This is something in this scene that does not happen, or has not happened in a very long time longer than I can remember.

Here's the problem now I have with it, I feel it's cheap, and that it won't stick.

Catwoman has her own ongoing series that has solicitations that are out for August issues, along with the Upcoming Batman and Catwoman #22 issue. This book would be a perfect ending for Catwoman. Always having been just that lucky to escape, heck the explosion in her apartment in Issue 1 alone with nary a scratch should have killed her, truth be told. But she gets felled by a bullet to the head, in a very gruesome scene.

Unless I am wrong and they add a blurb in every comic that she's in that is released from this point on 'takes place prior to JLoA #4' to make this stick, it's just false advertising from DC Comics again.

While I would be sad to see Selina Kyle die, I think it would discredit the character if they resurrect her, the Catwoman that was tied to that chair if revealed to be a decoy somehow might work. But it would need to be a clone or something as it seemed to much like Catwoman to me.

Just slightly frustrated when they throw in a death like this, I just know it is not going to stick and will end up being a cheap stunt.

DC Comics you can produce great stories, you have in the past. This could be the start of a good run, have some grieving, but focus on Selina, maybe a moment of clarity in the opening of the next issue, just as she's dying on the ground as things go dark for her. If this is part of Trinity War, if this is a lead in you got me on the line for the event.
