Game of Thrones Season 7, Episodes 1-3 Summaries Revealed

With only nine days left to go before the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere, HBO has released summaries for the first three episodes of the fantasy series' seven-episode penultimate season. The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series is set to premiere on Sunday, July 16th at 9 p.m. ET, exclusively on HBO (and HBO Now, HBO Go and HBO On Demand). The season begins the conclusion to the much-loved series, which is based on George R.R. Martin's bestselling fantasy book series that chronicles the epic power struggles between families and lands in a vast, violent kingdom.

So here's what's GoT fans can look forward to for the beginning of the season:

HBO wants to make sure we're all up to speed, so here's how things stand going into Game of Thrones Season 7:

"Daenerys Targaryen has finally set sail for Westeros with her armies, dragons and new Hand of the Queen, Tyrion Lannister. Jon Snow has been named King in the North after defeating Ramsay Bolton in the Battle of the Bastards and returning Winterfell to House Stark. In King's Landing, Cersei Lannister has seized the Iron Throne by incinerating the High Sparrow, his followers and her rivals in the Sept of Baelor. But as old alliances fracture and new ones emerge, an army of dead men marches on the Wall, threatening to end the game of thrones forever."
