Lucifer Season 3: Lucifer, Decker, and Pierce Becoming a Love Triangle
The relationship between Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) has been the heart of the Lucifer series since its debut. And while it has ebbed and flowed, there has always been more of a "when" it will happen rather than "if". Turns out there is even a ship name for it, Deckerstar… that is according to Ellis, at least. They spent the early episodes dealing with Chloe's connection to Detective Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), her ex-husband and father of Trixie (Scarlett Estevez). But this season they added a new wrinkle by introducing Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling) as someone who is all the best parts of Lucifer and none of the bad… or so it seems. His story is MUCH more complicated than that.
But what will happen to the Devil and his detective partner? Ellis spoke with TVLine and hinted at what's to come:
As we push towards the end of the season there is a huge Lucifer/Chloe storyline that also involves Pierce, and it becomes this kind of love triangle. There are some really lovely moments for Lucifer and Chloe as we build toward our big, big finish, which I can't spoil right now. But it's very Deckerstar-centric — our fans will be happy!
Their fans will be happy. That's always a good thing.
