DC Nation #0 Free on Comixology Now – as Is FCBD DC SuperHero Girls

Waking up, browsing through ComiXology on the way to the comic shop, I notice a couple of things.

Firstly, that the much-anticipated DC Nation #0, which has sold over a million copies to comic book stores and is available today for 25 cents, is free on ComiXology.

I mean I'm going to buy it at the store, obviously. But that's an interesting day-and-date decision by DC Comics on a day when comic stores are hoping many people will come through the doors to buy such an important comic for 25 cents – and ten maybe upsell them on everything else in the store.

But more than that, you can also download the DC SuperHero Girls comic for Free Comic Book Day this Saturday, also for free on ComiXology. Stores can't give this comic away for free until Saturday – but ComiXology can.

Marvel Comics have recently suffered the wrath of retailers for having Marvel collections and original graphic novels sold for 99 cents on ComiXology on the same day they are released in print. This is much more limited – but still as open to criticism.

I'm going to read mine on the tube…
