How to Help Out the Flood Victims in Old Ellicott City, Maryland

Longtime readers of my articles probably noticed I write a lot about Old Ellicott City, located in Howard County, Maryland. This past weekend the cozy little town was destroyed by flash floods.

As you can see, the city sustained devastating loss and damage. The town just rebuilt after a flood from two years ago, so needless to say people are upset. As I said earlier, I covered many things in this town, like May the 4th and Nerd Food. Old Ellicott City packs a lot of punch in just a few miles, and this flood will have lasting impacts on the home owners and small businesses. A number of places have started donation campaigns to help:

Little French Market

Portalli's

La Palapa Grill & Cantina

Tersiguel's French Country Restaurant

All Time Toys

Discoveries

Park Ridge Trading Company

Summer of Love

Southwest Connection

A Divaz Boutique

The Massage Boutique

Junk Girl/A Journey From Junk

Sweet Suds

Forget Me Not Factory

E.C. Pops

Horse Spirit Arts Gallery

Primitive Beginnings

Ellicott Mills Brewing Company

The Eddison Hermond Memorial

For anyone local to the area:

The Clayground in Old Ellicott City is re-open for business. If you sign up for any of their art classes, 50% of each receipt will go to help OEC rebuild.

In support of the Ellicott City residence in need due to the today's devastating flood, the Howard County Food Bank is partnering with the One EC and accepting donations of Water, Cleaning Supplies, and Flashlights beginning Monday 5/28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Drop off site:
9385 Gerwig Lane, Suite J
Columbia, MD 21046

Per the Howard County Government:

"If you would like to make a monetary donation to assist the residents and merchants of Ellicott City, please visit the Community Foundation of Howard County's website, https://cfhoco.org/, for more information. While there are certainly other legitimate organizations accepting monetary donations, using this avenue guarantees your donations will get where you intend."
